MinecraftStatus · public instrument 01

Minecraft server status checker

A status claim is only as good as its evidence window. Run a bounded observation; read what answered, when it was observed, and when the claim expires.

Results are timestamped observations, not availability promises.

Check failed, or the result looks wrong? Follow the can’t-connect checklist or read why a server can show Offline while players are on.

Minecraft service component evidence

Four anonymous operations and nine explicit Not collected rows from one release-bound snapshot.

Reading component evidence

Loading terrain… no status claim prints until the bounded check completes.

Evidence Ladder

What the instrument links, measures, refuses, and prints.

  1. Official source context

    Linked · not ingested
First-party help and incident sources are linked on the endpoint status sheet; they never silently drive the verdict.
  2. Bounded network observation

    Collected on request
A Java handshake, Bedrock ping, or scheduled semantic service request is attempted through guarded, time-bounded server-side code.
  3. Functional or global health

    Not collected
No multi-region quorum, gameplay login, historical uptime series, or official incident feed is implied by a single response.
  4. Cautious conclusion

    Expires explicitly
Every verdict is bounded by observedAt and validUntil; at expiry the only defensible current state is Unknown.

Claim boundary

Color never carries a verdict alone. Read the glyph, state word, method, observation time, and validity boundary together.

Reading the instrument

Short answers on checks, states, and validity windows.

How do I check whether a Minecraft server answered?

Enter an address, choose Java or Bedrock, and run the check. The bounded result reports what answered, with observed and valid-through times.

What does Unknown mean?

No defensible current result exists: the input was unsafe or invalid, the probe could not complete, or the evidence window elapsed. Unknown is deliberately distinct from Offline.

What is a Minecraft MOTD?

Server-supplied text shown in Minecraft's multiplayer list. When a server returns it, this instrument sanitizes the text before display.

How do Java and Bedrock observations differ?

Java uses the status handshake, normally port 25565. Bedrock uses a RakNet unconnected ping, normally port 19132. The protocols differ, so the edition must be selected first.

Can Offline prove that nobody can connect?

No. Offline means the admitted target port explicitly refused this status connection from this vantage point. It does not prove every gameplay connection path is unavailable. Silence, timeout, reset, or a close without status remain Unknown.

How long is an observation current?

Server observations are normally valid about 30 seconds, endpoint observations 60. At expiry the interface fails closed to Unknown until refreshed.
